The international trade system should not be discriminatory

The Deputy of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who traveled to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, in order to participate in the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group, said in this summit that was held on Thursday 11th of March : "The international trade system must be open, fair, inclusive and be non-discriminatory and help the sustainable development of countries".

The world today is more than before in need of peace, security, and stability for achieving prosperity as well as sustainable development. As a matter of fact, peace, security and stability are not achievable without sustainable development. We believe peace and development, security and progress, safety and prosperity are complementary and reinforcing each other. These are considered as our common goals that we must achieve through cooperation and collective actions. However, the post pandemic world should entail, inter alia, the following parameters as well:

Upholding multilateralism, more than ever, is vital in addressing the challenges we face today. All the obstacles that are facing the countries and nations in international economic, financial and trade affairs should be removed, and implementation of national development plans to be facilitated by all the players of the international community.

The Unilateral Coercive Measures or any restrictive measure and sanction regimes, which are contrary to the international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and impede the inclusive and sustainable progress as well as execution of the right to development, should be put off from the foreign policy agendas. These unlawful measures that deny nations from the enjoyment of their inherent human rights, also deprive the governments of essential means for achieving sustainable development and hinder regional and global solidarity. Such measures and regimes should be opposed and denied.
