Asia is poised to turn into the hub for the global economy and Iran will be playing an important part in that hub, says Iran’s deputy foreign minister for economic affairs, Mehdi Safari.

In a meeting between Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari and Uzbekistan's Acting Foreign Minister and Transportation Minister Bakhtiar Saidov, the two sides discussed major issues concerning economic ties between Tehran and Tashkent

Given consultations with Iraqi authorities in line with the efforts of the 13th Iranian government to effectively hold joint economic commissions with the target countries, especially neighbors, the 5th session of the joint economic commission of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq will be held from the 12 to 14 March in Baghdad.

Zhang Ming, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), who is visiting Iran, held a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mahdi Safari, for talks on the prospect of economic cooperation between Tehran and the Organization.

The Deputy of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who traveled to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, in order to participate in the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group, said in this summit that was held on Thursday 11th of March : "The international trade system must be open, fair, inclusive and be non-discriminatory and help the sustainable development of countries".

The 18th session of the Headquarters for Coordination of Foreign Economic Ties in this year has been held in Iran with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for economic Diplomacy as its chair. The issue of looking into challenges and opportunities of expansion of economic relations with India and expansion of economic ties with the ASEAN and east Asian countries topped the agenda of the talks at the meeting which was attended by members of the headquarters including the directors of relevant bodies.

China (IP) - Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade said that the visit of the President of the country to China could be the beginning of a new development in the economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

The 15th joint consular, border and customs commission of Iran and Turkmenistan was held on February 6 in Ashgabat headed by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranians’ Affairs Alireza Bikdeli and Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari and the Eurasian Economic Union’s Member of the Board (Minister) for Trade Andrey Slepnev exchanged views about the prospects of economic cooperation between the two sides.
